PZO:
Whats better movies, TV shows, or music videos?
Eric:
I dont think I can really say which one because they all have their
own vibe. Theyre all unique in their own way. When you do television
with an audience, youre getting a theater vibe with audience reaction.
When youre doing other television with a one camera, sort of like
a movie, you have shorter hours and youre not that committed. Thats
what makes that special. For films, its just another world. Its
all fun. Theyre all art. I dont look at them and think which
one is better than the other is.
PZO: Which actor has inspired you the most and helped you with your
career?
Eric: Definitely Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie.
PZO: What is a common compliment people give you?
Eric: Theres three things. That youre weird. I love when people
tell me Im weird. Youre special. Youre funny. Thats
an odd question. One thing. I dont think there is one thing because
Im multi- dimensional. The compliment depends on who the person
is and where they are coming from.
PZO:
What do you look for when you choose a role?
Eric: How much depth there is in the character. Where can I go with the
character. And of course the story and the script, what direction it is
going in. I look for the depth in each character. Where I could go with
the character. Also, the story and the script- what direction it is going
in. To see if this is a quality role. Because the role could be great,
but is a crappy movie. The character has to match up with the story line.
PZO:
Are you currently working on any projects?
Eric: I just wrapped "Even Stevens." Besides that, nothing much
due to the upcoming strike and the one that would have happened. Due to
the strike people werent prepared so Im working on my clothing
line which is called Hancehodges. Thats basically what Ive
been doing. Im designing an outfit for one of my friends premiere.
This is going to be my first big project. Thats about it.
PZO:
If you could relive any period of your life, what would it be?
Eric: Probably my high school days. Just getting to go to a regular high
school. Getting to have that whole high school experience- graduation,
prom, stuff like that. But then again, I wouldnt want to give up
what I have now. I would still like to act but get the high school experience
as well. I would have liked to be able to go to a normal school and graduated
on a stage with all my peers. I was home schooled so I got my diploma
in the mail and I never got the experience of graduating with my classmates.
Then again I wouldnt change what I have now.
PZO:
Who would you like to work with in the future?
Eric: Angelina Jolie <laughs> . Denzel Washington, Lenny
Kravitz, Michael Jackson, Jude Law, Haley Joel Osment, Tom Hanks, Anthony
Hopkins, and Cuba Gooding Jr. Theres a lot of people. If there was
a movie right now and Angelina Jolie was in, I would be an extra in it.
Even if I had to be an extra working in McDonalds and all she did was
come in to buy a burger I would completely do it. Also, Halle Berry, Will
Smith, and Chris Tucker.
PZO:
Has your career ever interfered with your personal life (dating, friends,
etc.)?
Eric: Its interfered by not knowing why people really want to be
my friend. I dont look at myself as a celebrity so its hard
for me to see what others see. I dont think that people are going
to use me because Im a celebrity. I dont look at myself as
a star because I still feel as if I have so much more to accomplish in
my life. When it comes down to it I have my family who are my true friends.
Theyre my only support group that I can continually rely on.
PZO:
What do you do when you get time off?
Eric: When I get time off I hang out with my friends, I write scripts
to keep myself busy. I work on my clothing line because its a really
big part of me now. I just have a good time and try to stay grounded.
I dont wanna be too into the Hollywood scene. "Wheres
the next Hollywood party? Oh Ah." Even though going to things like
that are great because Im with people who are in the same field
as me so I can be comfortable, I dont want to get used to things
like that. I just want a life outside of Hollywood, to keep me grounded
and stuff like that.
